What does resilience mean to you?
What does it mean for the important people around you? Your family? Your workplace?
The Theory of Resilience
There are many incomplete or incorrect definitions of resilience. Most people will name ‘Coping’ and ‘Bouncing Back’ as resilience, and indeed these are two important resilience states. They are however not static, they are part of the resilience continuum that you can find more about on The Resilience Dynamic® research model.
People also talk about resilience as being tough, or being in control, or even, being confident. All of these are myths. See the Myths of Resilience for more.
Resilience is simply your ability to adapt. The measure of your resilience is the measure of your capacity for change.
